Public Affairs

Keeping up with the clinical, research and teaching advances of a leading academic medical center and biomedical research institution is a huge undertaking – one that certainly doesn't allow the BWH Public Affairs team to rest on their laurels.

BWH's Department of Public Affairs oversees internal and external communications. This includes everything from producing several publications and other electronic and web-based communications for 13,000 employees, to responding to hundreds of inquiries from local, national and international media, to seeking information about our groundbreaking research and medical milestones, to getting expert opinions on a broad range of healthcare topics.

The department’s most valuable and rewarding responsibility is to keep our employees, patients and families aware of BWH’s outstanding care – care which gives reason for ongoing hope. Knowledge of a breakthrough procedure or alternative treatment can affect the quality of life for everyone involved. So the job of Public Affairs is not just to report the facts, but to communicate the emotional and tangible benefits behind those facts – to the internal and external BWH communities.
